Rigid PCB

PCB Runner provides Rigid PCB’s in UK & Europe

PCB Runner offers a top quality & quick turn Rigid PCB’s manufacturing. Rigid PCBs are hard in nature and cannot be moulded and twisted. It can also be not reshaped. Rigid Pcb is made of solid substrates such as fibreglass (FR4) or epoxy with a combination of other layers like copper layers, solder mask, and silk screen/legend. Due to its durability, it can be sustained in terms of thermal, critical environments & applications.

Types of Rigid PCB

Rigid Pcbs can be manufactured as single layer & multi-layer constructions. The conducting layers serve as the electrical links between parts and aid in proper signal flow, while dielectric provides insulation and requires the distance between conducting layers as a whole, these layers define Pcb’s overall thickness.

Single-sided: The early PCBs were single-sided circuit boards. All of the components are on one side of the board, and they have a single layer of conductive material. Single-sided PCBs are quick and simple to build, which lowers the potential of errors. This economical arrangement does well in low-density plans.

Double-sided: Double-sided PCBs use copper conductive layers on both sides. Components can be placed on the top side and simultaneously on the bottom side. Double-sided PCBs provide twice as much space for components, more design options, more sophisticated circuits and compact design as compared to single-sided hence dimensions of PCBs can be reduced.

Multilayer: Multilayer pcb consists of more than two conducting layers. A multilayer PCB has layers of prepreg (woven glass cloth with epoxy resin) and a number of cores with components mounted on top and bottom layers. Multilayer PCBs consist of complex and critical designs. Blind and buried vias are used in multilayer PCs in order to save extra space. Multilayer PCBs are used in a large number of sophisticated and sensitive electronic devices, and hence, they are costly depending on the complexity of design as compared to other types of PCBs.
